Tell us what your brand is missing.

Six sentences. Tap the one closest to your situation and we tell you what we read and where we would start. Without asking for any data.

01“I have a good idea, but I still don’t know how to turn it into a brand.”

What we read

What exists is an intuition about the product and who it serves; what is missing is the decision of what the brand is and what it is not. Without that, every piece made afterwards answers a different question. The brand is not the logo: it is the set of decisions that make everything look like the same thing from day one.

Where we start

  1. 01One session to put the idea in writing: what you sell, to whom, and why you
  2. 02The territory and the concept before drawing anything
  3. 03The minimum system and the three pieces you go out into the world with
02“We sell something good and we look smaller than we are.”

What we read

The product already competes; the brand doesn’t. What fails is almost never the logo: it is that there is no system holding the same level across the twenty places where a customer sees you. A different typeface on every piece costs a company more credibility than a bad logo.

Where we start

  1. 01An inventory of everything that carries your name today
  2. 02A minimum system: one typeface, one grid, one photography rule
  3. 03The three pieces people see most, remade as proof
03“We grew and the brand we made at the start can’t keep up.”

What we read

It is not a matter of taste, it is a matter of scale. The brand was designed for one person doing everything, and now six people use it, or an agency, or a packaging supplier. What isn’t written down as a rule gets reinvented: that is why every new piece looks a little less like the last one.

Where we start

  1. 01An audit of what already exists, piece by piece
  2. 02What stays and what retires, in writing and with reasons
  3. 03The new system and the guidelines, written while it is designed
04“The brand looks great in the deck and breaks in production.”

What we read

It is not a design problem, it is a delivery problem. The system was defined in a static file and never written in code. What isn’t written as a design variable doesn’t exist: every person who opens the project reinvents it, and six months later the website and the brand are two different brands.

Where we start

  1. 01A 48-hour audit of what already exists
  2. 02Design variables and rules, written in code, not in a PDF
  3. 03A real screen in the browser as proof of the system
05“The site looks good and doesn’t sell.”

What we read

Almost always the site is well built and badly ordered. The page says what the company wants to tell in the order it came to mind, not what the buyer needs to know in the order they need it. That is fixed with structure and copy, not with a redesign.

Where we start

  1. 01Who comes in, what they are looking for, and on which screen they drop off
  2. 02A new order and a single ask per screen
  3. 03Rewrite and rebuild, with measurement from day one
06“We have a process that lives in spreadsheets and email.”

What we read

The business already works; what doesn’t scale is how information moves. Every spreadsheet is a decision nobody wrote down: who can touch what, what happens when two people edit at once, where the history goes. A custom system doesn’t invent the process: it writes it down, makes it visible, and takes the repetitive work off people.

Where we start

  1. 01Map the real workflow: who does what, with what, and where it gets stuck
  2. 02A clickable prototype of the system before writing any code
  3. 03The first phase in production with the essentials; the rest in stages

( 03 )Scope and price

Simpledoesn’t mean easy.

Removing costs more than adding.

Everything you see here —one typeface, two grays, one angle— is what was left after throwing out the rest.

That is what we do with your brand: we leave it with the decisions that hold up for ten years.

( 05 ) Method

Four movements. One direction.

  1. 01

    Direction

A one-page document: the problem, the bet, and what we are NOT going to do.

1 week · The whole team

  2. 02

    System

Identity, typography, grid and design variables. Named the way they will be written in code.

    3—5 weeks · Brand direction

  3. 03

    Build

The site or the product, with the system inside. Repository, living guide and handover session included.

4—6 weeks · Design and development

  4. 04

    Activation

The brand goes out into the world: launch, social and campaigns, measured from day one.
